Course Overview: This nationally accredited course is to provide employees with the necessary training to enter and work in a confined space. This unit covers the control of entry to confined spaces, for maintenance, servicing of vessels of other necessary reasons. Wormald is now pleased to introduce an exciting new mobile training facility that brings confined space safety and rescue training to life. To fully understand and manage the risks associated with confined space, it is important for people to learn and test themselves under real-life conditions. However, finding a suitable confined space training area can be difficult, and having staff attend an offsite location can be impractical for regional offices. That is where the new Wormald mobile training facility can help. Using our fully-equipped trailer, trainees can experience the realities of accessing and working in enclosed spaces, and even participate in mock emergency scenarios and rescues under real life conditions.
Course Objectives:
- To ensure competency for participants to perform activities relevant to their entry and work associated with confined spaces
- Provide for the health and safety of all persons who need to enter or work in confined spaces by preventing exposure to hazards that may otherwise be experienced when working in a confined space, and thereby prevent collapse, injury, illness or death arising from exposure to those hazards
- The training includes the following:
- The hazards of confined space
- Risk assessment procedures
- Risk control measures
- Emergency procedures
- The selection, use and maintenance of safety equipment
- Legislative requirements
- Entry Permits
- Basic First Aid and CPR
- Use of fire extinguishers
- Practical scenarios entering a confined space
