FireWire 18: Wormald and Atlas Copco working together
If you operate portable diesel compressors in hazardous work situations, you know how important it is to adopt fire safety precautions.
That is why Wormald has recently joined forces with Atlas Copco Specialty Rental to install Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems onto compressors rented throughout Australia.
The Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems are now a standard feature of Specialty Rental’s fleet of larger four-wheeled rental compressor units. This means that these compressors provide protection from unforeseen internal fires and can be used safely in hazardous situations such as underground mining and oil refineries.
Relying on a Vehicle Fire Suppression System can greatly reduce the repair bill from an internal fire, as it allows the fire to be suppressed before it can cause extensive damage to your people or property. This equipment is not only reliable and functional, but also safe to use under a variety of conditions.
The Fire Suppression Systems being installed into the Atlas Copco compressors comply with the new Australian Standard – AS5062-2006 – Fire Protection for Mobile and Transportable Equipment.
Atlas Copco Specialty Rental is Triple Certified for Quality (ISO 9001), Health & Safety (OHSAS 18001) and Environment (ISO14001). Therefore, it’s essential that the Wormald fire suppression systems comply with AS5062 to ensure that Specialty Rental maintains their Triple Certification.
With both Wormald and Atlas Copco committed to best practice fire safety, these rented compressors represent reliability, compliance and peace of mind for many businesses throughout Australia.
