FireWire 17: Wormald protects Shell across Australia
Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies. It has had a presence in Australia since 1901 and employs around 3,000 people throughout the country.
Challenge: With 25 terminal sites and depots across Australia, each with different assets and configurations, Shell needed a national partner to service all their fire protection equipment in each location.
Solution: After assessing the market, Shell engaged Wormald as their fire protection partner. The three year contract covers both routine and non-routine services on a vast range of equipment including portable fire extinguishers, fire panels, sprinkler systems, and foam suppression systems.
Wormald will also provide Shell’s staff with professional training on the use of extinguishers and on fast and effective evacuation procedures in case of an emergency.
Benefits: Shell selected Wormald because of its proven track record and in-depth experience in servicing, design, installation and commissioning of industrial fire protection systems for the resources industry.
Another major benefit is the single point of contact provided via the national call centre ‘Tyco Gateway’ which provides 24x7 support and contract facilitation. Wormald also has the largest geographic network of branches for any one service provider, including local branches in close proximity to all the existing Shell sites. So, Shell can be sure that help is at hand across Australia day and night.
Wormald maintains a local and global focus on health, safety, environmental, and risk management standards for both employees and customers which are in line with Shell’s requirements.
