The Building Control Commission in Victoria defines essential services as �…the fire and life safety items installed or constructed in a building to ensure adequate levels of fire safety over the life of the building.�

All around Australia, Building Owners, Agents and Managers are responsible and accountable for the maintenance of essential services. The following must be achieved in order to comply with these obligations.

Essential services must be identified and maintained to specific standards and frequencies
Maintenance records must be kept on the premises
Compliance reports must be completed and displayed (or lodged) where required.

Wormald has responded to this complicated task by developing its Essential Service Inspection System (ESIS). ESIS is a simple, cost effective tool, which helps building owners, agents and managers meet their essential service responsibilities.

ESIS is used in some of the largest hospitals, aged care, hotels, schools and office buildings through to the smallest Church or retail shop. Users include government departments, local councils, corporate and individual building owners alike.

Building application submissions to local councils may also invoke fire safety orders which require upgrading or servicing of fire protection and egress. Our personnel can provide cost effective options to meet these requirements.

FPS4 Terms and Conditions

The FPS4 is a standard set of terms and conditions issued and distributed by the Fire Protection Association of Australia for inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
