| Paper begins to char at approx. 177°C (350°F) and it is important that your fire resistant filing cabinet keeps your documents below this critical temperature. The Japanese institute of standards has devised a series of tests to determine the degree of fire resistance of our filing cabinets. The Firemaster Fire Resisting Fire Cabinets have been manufactured to meet the requirements of JIS-S-1037 1 hour fire and drop test. Locking The unit is secured by a push action keylock and keyless combination lock. Individually locking drawers are standard. Each drawer is also provided with its own “flip lever” at its side and when set in the release position the particular drawer will freely open even though the other drawers are locked. Construction The Firemaster Fire Resisting Filing Cabinet is constructed from new formula special protection materials which provide excellent fire resistance. A tongue and groove construction prevents protective water vapour from escaping and resists conduction of heat to the inside. Each individual drawer compartrment is separated to provide complete and individual insulation against fire. Fittings A partition plate and a suspension frame for filing pockets are standard with each drawer. Magnetic Media Containers Magnetic Media Containers are available as an optional extra. These containers will provide will provide protection for your magnetic disks and tapes. You simply place the container inside the bottom drawer of your fir resistant filing cabinet. |
