Please speak to your Firemaster agent about the Guardmaster range of security safes. What you don’t know about your computer records can hurt you The greatest strength of your computer system is its ability to store more information in less space. That is also its greatest weakness, with magnetic media records there is no such thing as a small loss. Magnetic media is far more sensitive than paper. Paper begins to char at temperatures above 177°C and is not seriously affected by humidity. Computer diskettes (floppy disks) distort at temperatures above 52°C and at relative humidity over 85%. Even a minor fire that is quickly brought under control by a sprinkler or alarm system can be a major disaster for your data and your company. A very high percentage of business fires result in the total loss of unprotected records. Business records such as stock records and debtors ledgers etc. are essential to setting insurance claims, legal actions and resuming normal operations. Firemaster fire resistent data cabinets form an important part of your fire resistent system. |
