Limiting the Spread of Fire
Every facility contains potential fire hazards. International experience shows that fires occur in all types of structures, often resulting in loss of life and costly damage. However, if fire can be contained in one area, with the aid of passive fire protection and a combination of detection and protection systems an effective solution can be achieved minimising the risk.
This awareness has resulted in the availability of products and systems specifically designed to resist the spread of flames, hot gases and smoke from one compartment to another. Wormald can install a comprehensive passive fire protection system, ensuring that in the event of a fire, its passage to other internal areas is impeded.
Fire Doors and Frames

Passive Products and Systems
Wherever services such as cables, ducts or pipes penetrate a fire rated barrier (walls, floors or ceilings), the service must be sealed in such a manner that the fire resistance level or rating of the element of construction is not impaired. Passive products and systems are used
to close off gaps in floors and walls between services, around cables and pipes, around ducts and in control joints.
