GammaRAE II Personal Radiation Detector

The GammaRAE II Personal Radiation Detector (PRD) is the first PRD to provide rapid detection of gamma (y) ray sources even in potentially flammable environments.

Certified, intrinsically safe and water-immersible for chemical decontamination purposes, the GammaRAE II PRD can be safely used in more environments than other PRD’s.

It is ideal for first responders to radioactive threats, including; customs and border patrols, law enforcement, security officers in nuclear power facilities, banks, government laboratories, medical facilities, military, Hazmat teams, fire departments and other emergency services.

Features:

  • Fast response. The sensitive cesium iodide (CsI) scintillator provides a two-second response to radiological threats.
  • Loud alarm. Alerts the wearer with a loud 85 + dB audible alarm, big, bright flashing LEDs, and a vibration alarm. For stealth operations, law enforcement personnel can disable each alarm individually.
  • Water, dust and shock resistant. Immersible (IP67) design makes for reliable operation in wet or rugged environments and enables easy decontamination. Passes the drop test from 59” (1.5m) to hard concrete.Dosage accumulation. Dosage data stored can be cumulative or cleared and reset for each use period.
  • Intrinsic Safety (IS). IS Certification permits operation in potentially flammable/explosive environments.
  • Long calibration life. Two AA alkaline batteries last up to 800 hours.
