Every year Wormald employees support many charities and community initiatives in Australia and around the world.
Whether it is through sponsorship, donations, mentoring the disadvantaged or raising money for a worthy cause or campaign, we are committed to helping those in need through a range of ongoing partnerships, some of which include:
Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Research Foundation
Wormald has signed a significant five year sponsorship agreement with the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) Research Foundation. It gives Wormald the naming rights to the Burns, Trauma and Critical Care Research Centre, located at the RBWH in Brisbane. Wormald has been at the forefront of fire protection since 1889, so we are very proud to be able to fund new lifesaving treatments for burns, trauma and intensive care patients.
We are proud of our ongoing relationship with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA). We recently employed their TeamSafe program to present at our ‘Serious About Safety’ Tyco Updates to help educate our staff around Australia and New Zealand. We have also supported SCIA with staff donations.

Starlight’s Star Jump
Richard Kelleway, our Managing Director, raised $2,575 through his participation in Starlight’s Star Jump 2008. More than 35 brave and generous business executives participated in a 43-level sheer abseil down the terrifyingly tall Suncorp Building at 259 George Street for Star Jump 2008. Altogether the event raised over $75,000 to help grant more than 180 urgent Starlight wishes for seriously ill children and young people aged four to 20 years.

Fire Service Support
We sponsor/advertise events and give money and promotion items donations, for a number of fire services nationally, including; Victorian Urban and Rural Fire Brigades, NSW Fire Service, Queensland Fire and Rescue, Westpac Rescue Helicopter and ACT Fire Brigade.
Australian Disaster Relief Appeals
Victoria experienced Australia’s greatest peace time disaster with the most horrific fires wreaking unimaginable human and property loss. Over 200 lives were lost, along with thousands of homes destroyed. On top of this, Queensland has endured some of their worst floods on record which has crippled towns and destroyed property all through the far North.
Tyco Fire & Security implemented a major fund raising appeal for the people of Victoria and Queensland. Our employees then helped to raise over $39,000. All money raised locally was matched dollar for dollar by the company, giving a grand total of $88,586 to go towards the Australian Red Cross’ Bushfire Appeal and the Queensland Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal.
Our sister company, Tyco Flow Control Pacific, also appealed to staff to dig deep and agreed to match donations dollar for dollar. They raised a staggering $160,000.
Fire Protection Association Australia
We support the Fire Protection Association (FPA) Australia in several ways including sponsorship and support of their seminar, the FPA Australia conference and exhibition, corporate entertainment and golf days. To find more information about the association, please visit www.fpaa.com.au.
Women in Super - Mother’s Day Classic
The Mother’s Day Classic is a nationwide community event, bringing together those who have lost someone to breast cancer and those who want to get fit and donate to a worthy cause. In May 2008, Wormald was a proud sponsor of Parramatta Mother's Day Classic. To find more information about the association, please visit www.mothersdayclassic.org.
The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC)
RIDBC is an organization that helps to close the gap between the life experiences of children with hearing or vision impairment, and those without. As a way to help support this worthy organization, Wormald was a proud sponsor of the 2008 Sight and Sound Committee Charity Golf Day and the RIDBC Golf Club's ProAm.
